The Year End Extravaganza!
Well, with that as a title, I guess this better be good – or at least not suck! So where to begin? Well, how about with Emilie Autumn. I reviewed her CD "Chambermaid" (Limited Edition EP) and I just can’t say enough about how much I liked it. Her mix of ethereal, Goth and pop made for one hell of a great CD. Ah but can she pull this off live, in a word yes! Emilie who sings, plays violin and piano, put on a great show over at the Elbo Room. Her larger then life stage presence never got in the way of the music. She seems to be able to hold the attention of even the most jaded onlookers. Emilie’s stage presence is in the mode of Goth meets Glam, but the ace in the hole, as if she needs one, is her band. Her musical interaction with her backing band seems almost instinctive. Emilie plays for the crowd, as much as she plays for herself. Check out the song I have for you, it’s called "Chambermaid", and then check out her web page, www.Emilieautumn.com.
